Her name is Sweet Pea, she is the kitty that Lisa wrote about, with the broken jaw. Thank you Lisa, for telling me about this sweet loving baby. Sweet Pea, lived with a family when she was young, and "somehow" her left hind leg ended up being broken in 3 places and her jaw was broken as well. I spoke several times with Gail, the wonderful lady who runs the shelter "CA TS CRADLE" . Gail is the lady who rescued Sweet Pea, from her "loving family" and gave her a chance at life, and love. I am so grateful to this sweet lady, for doing what she does. My heartfelt thanks go out to anyone who rescues kitties. Sweet Pea, is about a year old, and she is so pretty, not that it matters to me. She is small, but that could just be her natural size, or it could be due to the trauma that she has experienced. The vet thinks that she may not ever come into heat, and Gail, never saw her come into heat, while she had her. The vet thinks that putting her through the trauma of having her spayed could possibly be an unnecessary risk, for her. I'll wait and see for now, my kitties are all inside kitties, and my boys are all neutered, in fact, she is the only unfixed kitty here. Sweet Pea, eats very well, considering that her jaw fused back together at an angle, and she can't move it, luckily when it healed, it was slightly open. She laps her food and has a big appetite for such a small kitty. She shakes her head after eating, because she doesn't like the drool to be on her face, I can't blame her, I wouldn't like it either. She is eating about 3 times a day for now, I'm home during the day, so I can feed her more often if she is hungry. She has the sweetest little meow, and whine. She is a lap baby! She just loves to snuggle, and purr. I'm going to feed her the way that Gail has been feeding her, which is by pounding IAMS Lamb and Rice dry food into a powder, and mixing it with IAMS chicken formula wet food. You add enough water to the mixture to make a gravy type consistency, and on top of that I add, NUTRACAL, a vitamin supplement that comes in a tube similar to toothpaste, she LOVES it! I have had no problem with my other kitties trying to take her special food, so I may continue to feed her in the kitchen, with the rest of the population, but should a problem arise, I may have to resort to the bath tub, or a large kitty carrier, so she can eat in peace. She is just the sweetest baby, I fell asleep in my daughters room last night, and Sweet Pea snuggled in between the two of us. Marnie (my daughter) just thinks that Sweet Pea is the cats meow, lol. Sweet pea rubs up against her legs and does her sweet meow/whine, and they sit together, and communicate. Sweet Pea, is gray and white with slight tabby markings on her body. She is so sweet, I can't say that enough!! Her little tongue sticks out a good part of the time, it's so cute! I am in love with this sweet baby. I hope that she and I have many happy years together. I know that she has already added something to mine that I didn't even know that I was missing. You all have a great day.Heather Pictures of Sweet Pea
