Kimby's Story

Kimby is female calico Manx. I found her 2 years ago in our downtown city park. She was walking in circles, all so tiny and frail. I picked her and knew at once she was abused and blinded. Someone had either sprayed her or tried to drown her in a pesticide. I took her to my vet. She confirmed Kimby (I named her after my niece, whom originally told me about seeing the kitten in the park needing help) was blinded. That was the bad news but the good news was she was going to live. That was 2 years ago. She is the most wonderful addition to my pet family. Her best friend is my male Yorkie, Tucker.

I have 2 other cats and everyone gets along fine. Kimby adjusted to her new surroundings as well as any sighted cat.

I had originally thought about Kimby being a part of my Pet-care and Awareness program, but she is very shy and couldn't adjust to strangers. Understandable. So, Kimby's story is told during the Don't Abuse part of my program.
